Subutex (Buprenorphine) 8mg is a sublingual medicine by Pharma Grade available in form of tablets. The chemical composition and formula of this drug include buprenorphine HCL, which represented as follows: (2S)-2-[17-Cyclopropylmethyl-4, 5α-epoxy-3-hydroxy-6-methoxy6α, 14-ethano-14α-morphinan-7α-yl]-3, 3-dimethyl butane-2-ol hydrochloride.
Subutex (Buprenorphine) 8mgis started by the patient only when the clear symptoms and signs of opioid withdrawal start appearing. It is given in maintenance. This drug is a partial opioid agonist and also an opioid analgesic. If 8mg is given on the first day then after analyzing the patient’s requirement 16mg SL is given on the 2nd day and similarly continued for three to four days.
Patients are advised not to swallow, chew, cut, or eat until the whole tablet is dissolved. It must be administered as a whole tablet, to increase its bioavailability. Available in two concentrations
